How to Turn Off Pop-Up Blockers in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge

Pop-up blockers are useful for stopping unwanted ads, but sometimes they block important windows. Here's how to turn them off in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge with easy-to-follow steps.


Google Chrome

Step 1: Open Chrome Settings
  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Look to the top-right corner of the browser window, and click on the three vertical dots (also known as the menu icon).
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Settings (usually towards the bottom of the list).
Step 2: Find Site Settings
  1. On the left-hand side of the screen, you'll see several categories. Click on Privacy and security.
  2. Under the "Privacy and security" section, click on Site Settings.
Step 3: Disable Pop-up Blocker
  1. Scroll down under "Content" and click on Pop-ups and redirects.
  2. You’ll see a switch at the top of the page. If the switch is grey and says Blocked, click on it to toggle it so it turns blue and says Allowed.
Optional: Allow Pop-Ups for Specific Websites
  • If you only want to allow pop-ups for specific sites, scroll down and click Add next to the "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects" section.
  • Enter the URL of the website and click Add.
